The 45 Star Flag
Years flown: 1896-1908
Presidents: Grover Cleveland (1893-1897), William McKinley (1897-1901), Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909)
State added: Utah
The 45th flag was flown for a period of 12 years, under the presidency of three candidates. The flag was originally produced in 1898 as a homage to the recently sunken USS Maine. It has been embolized with the battle cry in the start of the Spanish-American War.
